The way that the NHS space is used is changing. Some healthcare services are moving away from traditional hospital settings and moving closer to communities.

This means that we need a more flexible approach to managing space, so that services can book the space they need, when they need it. This not only helps services to better support their patients in the local community, but also means that NHS space is better used, waiting times are reduced and money is saved for the NHS.

That's why we've created NHS Open Space - built by the NHS, for the healthcare sector.

NHS Open Space provides access to clinical and non-clinical rooms from partners across the NHS. Health, wellbeing and community services can book flexible and affordable rooms across England on an hourly, sessional or daily basis.

It’s pay as you go, so you only pay for the time and space you need, no lease required.

Our easy-to-use property finder helps you find the right space, with 8 different room types to choose from including:

When you search for a room, you can see the pricing and availability in real time. You can book rooms for as little as an hour, and make advance bookings - 15-21 months before, helping you to plan ahead.

The platform also provides easy-to-use account tools so that you can view floorplans and pricing, manage users on your accounts, manage bookings and payments, and download reports.

How it works?

To sign up to book rooms with NHS Open Space, you’ll need to register for a free account on our website.

Once you’ve submitted your registration, a member of our team will contact you to verify your details and request additional information such as accreditations and information about the services you provide.

It’s important to send this information, otherwise your registration won’t be approved. Only health, wellbeing and community services can use the platform.

Once your account has been approved, you’ll get a confirmation email and you’re ready to start booking!

You can then search through our property finder to find the right space for you, choosing from 8 different room types. After you’ve made a booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details.

You’ll also be able to manage the booking from your NHS Open Space account.

If you no longer need the space, please cancel your booking so that it can be booked by others.
