As the NHS evolves, the way that its space is used is changing, raising a need for a more flexible and sessional approach. NHS Open Space aims to answer this need, combining the NHS’ portfolio of accessible, flexible and affordable accommodation with an intuitive booking platform. With this, services – within and beyond the NHS – have more choice and control on how they use NHS space.

Both clinical and non-clinical space in NHS buildings can be booked on a pay-as-you-go basis, by the session, day or (for some) hour slots, up to 18 months in advance. Once booked, services will have a guarantee of a high-quality on-site experience, with rooms ready to go and reception staff to provide access.

Since launching our new booking platform in May 2019, we have grown our community to 1000+ users spanning a range of health and wellbeing services, booking across our 100 sites. In 2021 we plan to rapidly expand.
